Areas of Involvement

Councils

Our monthly Council Meetings target the varied interests of our members and provide an excellent opportunity for new and existing members to get involved in the association, network and increase the benefits of their membership. Below is a brief description of each council and what they do. If you are interested in joining any of these councils, it is as simple as emailing our Council Coordinator, Gabby Bridenbaugh gabby@tulsahba.com and requesting to be put on the mailing list for a particular council or a combination of them.

 
 
40Below Council
Attendees: Any Builder, Associate or Affiliate Member under 40 years of age
Membership: $0.00
Meeting Time: 4th Thursday of each month*, free lunch provided
* Meeting times vary depending on event schedule

The 40Below Council was formed to recruit the next generation of HBA members. Their purpose is to inspire innovation through education, social media and participate in community outreach. The 40Below Council participates in social happy hours for networking, continuing education and professional development sessions. The Council puts on the annual Halloween Party for the HBA, participates in the “Next Generation” Preview Tour at the Parade of Homes, Habitat for Humanity neighborhood project, and other recruitment events throughout the year.

 
 
Associates Council
Attendees: Any Associate/Affiliate Member
Membership: $0.00
Meeting Time: 1st Tuesday of each month, 11:30-1:00pm, free lunch provided 

The Associates Council is open to all members of the Association holding Associate or Affiliate memberships. This Council’s purpose is to support and participate in all activities, events and programs of the HBA to unite with builder members for the purposes of mutual advantage, collaboration, and promotion of the philosophy of “Do Business with Members”. This Council provides a forum for members to exchange information, experiences, and express industry concerns. The Associates Council also oversees the HBA Golf Tournament, HBA Fishing Tournament, Builder Appreciation Night, Economic Forecast Luncheon and Associate Inclusive Events.

 
Builders Council
Attendees: Any Builder, Associate or Affiliate Member
Membership: $0.00
Meeting Time: 4th Wednesday of each month, 11:30-1:00pm, free lunch provided 

The Builders Council is open to all members of the Association holding Builder, Associate or Affiliate memberships. This Council meets monthly to discuss topics and issues relating to the building industry as well as exchanging information, experiences and industry concerns. Builders can earn continuing education credits for certain meetings that cover topics relating to green building and other certifications needed. The Builders Council oversees Associate Appreciation Night, and hosts days at the Capital for legislative issues. Builders who are a part of the Association are also eligible to enter homes into the annual Parade of Homes in June.

 
Developers Council
Attendees: Any Builder, Associate or Affiliate Member, Utility Representatives, and Municipality Representatives
Membership: $0.00
Meeting Time: 3rd Tuesday of each month, 3:30pm-5:00pm

The Developers council has the responsibility of overseeing all activities (i.e., codes, zoning, development/city development, infrastructure, and land use) related to bringing raw land to finished lots. They meet monthly to exchange information and ideas relating to the development industry and engage elected officials and cities across the region to address the opportunities and obstacles to development.  The meetings are considered a resource for open and candid discussion of local, state, and national issues impacting developers and municipalities throughout the region.    

 
Remodelers Council
Attendees: Any Builder, Associate or Affiliate Member
Membership: $95 annually
Meeting Time: 1st Thursday of each month, 5:00pm-7:30pm, Cocktail hour with dinner and meeting following

 

The Remodelers Council is one of the largest remodeling councils affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and meets monthly with programming focused on the remodeling industry, new trends, and products. They are dedicated to fostering excellence, professionalism, and public awareness through education and certification to its members and service to the community. Council members can earn continuing education during selected meetings, have the opportunity to participate in the annual Remodeled Tulsa Tour remodeling showcase and receive a free listing in the HBA Remodelers Directory. Members can participate in philanthropic efforts with the council during the Evening of Giving night after the Remodeled Tulsa Tour, as well as participate on the Lindsey House repair team and other community efforts.

 

Chapters

 

Are you doing business in outlying areas of Tulsa? The HBA of Greater Tulsa's Chapters are a great way to meet others in these communities and get plugged in to what's happening where you live and work.  Each Chapter holds regular meetings and hosts several events throughout the year in their respective areas. The Chapters target the varied interests of our members and provide an excellent opportunity for new and existing members to get involved in the association, network and increase the benefits of their membership. Below is a brief description of each Chapter and what they do. Owasso Chapter
Attendees: Any Builder, Associate or Affiliate Member
Membership: $0.00
Meeting Time: 2nd Wednesday bi-monthly, 11:30-1:00pm, free lunch provided 

The Owasso Chapter is open to all members of the Association holding Builder memberships, as well as all Associate and Affiliate members. This Council meets every other month to discuss topics and issues relating to the building industry in the Owasso region as well as exchanging information, experiences and industry concerns. The Owasso Chapter hosts an annual golf tournament and participates in community philanthropic efforts.

 
Southwest Chapter
Attendees: Any Builder; Associate or Affiliate Member
Membership: $0.00
Meeting Time: 2nd Wednesday bi-monthly, 11:30-1:00pm, free lunch provided

 

The Southwest Chapter is open to all members of the Association holding Builder memberships, as well as all Associate members. This Council meets every other month in different towns and regions of southern Tulsa to highlight new economic development and trends happening in those particular areas relating to the building industry.

 

Annual Events

Greater Tulsa Home & Garden Show: Hosted by the Associates Council, this event is Tulsa's oldest and largest home and garden products trade show, with nearly 500 exhibitors.  Takes place in March.

Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes: The first new home showcase event in the country and one of the largest.  Offering more than 125 homes on display from Bartlesville to Coweta, ranging in price from $100,000 to $1,000,000.  Takes place in June.

Home Remodeling Showcase: Hosted by the Remodelers Council, this event addresses one of the fastest growing areas of the home building industry, remodeling.  The event is the premier showcase of recently remodeled homes.  Takes place over one weekend in September..
