The Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa is a trade association serving Tulsa, Okla. and the surrounding communities. The organization's mission is to to advocate for the home building industry while promoting ethical business practices and standards. The organization is affiliated with the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. As “the voice of Tulsa's housing industry,” the HBA of Greater Tulsa helps promote policies that will keep housing a local priority, and aims to provide and expand opportunities for all consumers to have safe, decent and affordable housing.
Founded in 1942, the HBA of Greater Tulsa currently has approximately 1,000 members. About one-third of HBA members are home builders, and/or remodelers. The remaining members are associates working in closely related fields within the housing industry, such as mortgage finance and building products and services.
The association is member-driven, with a professional staff of 9 in Tulsa. More than 70 members serve on the association’s board of directors, which helps set the association’s agenda. The Organization is currently led by an Executive Committee and four Senior Officers, along with Association CEO, Jeffrey.
The HBAs various groups provide a wide range of services to members, focusing on key issues such as remodeling and green building, promotional events and philanthropy. The association also represents the industry’s interests with local government and strives to ensure that housing remains a priority when laws are made and policies are established.
The HBA of Greater Tulsa's builder members construct nearly 70 percent of the new homes built each year in the Tulsa Metro area.
The HBAs annual home products trade show, the Tulsa Home & Garden Show, is the largest show of its kind in Oklahoma. In 2016, the Greater Tulsa Home & Garden Show will be held at the RiverSpirit Center at Expo Square, March 10-13.
The organization's annual new home showcase event, the Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes, is one of the largest multi-site Parades in the country, and showcases the latest trends in new home construction. The 2016 event is scheduled for June 18-26.
