What is a Council?
A council is a subgroup of members who share similar interests and goals within the home building industry. Councils provide a space to connect, collaborate, and grow through shared experiences and specialized programs.
Currently, the Tulsa HBA has five active councils:
- Associates Council – Open to all members, this council focuses on the needs and success of Associate members.
- Builders & Developers Council – Membership includes builders and developers who gather to discuss issues and opportunities specific to residential construction and development.
- Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT45) – Created to unite and empower the younger generation of industry professionals, LOT45 focuses on leadership development and networking.
- Professional Women in Building (PWB) – Open to all, this council is dedicated to advancing and diversifying the building industry by supporting and promoting women in construction.
- Remodelers Council – Open to both Associate and Builder members, this council centers on trends, education, and best practices in remodeling.
What is a Chapter?
A chapter is a subgroup of the HBA of Greater Tulsa organized by geographic area. Chapters provide members with opportunities to connect locally, discuss regional housing issues, and strengthen community relationships.
The Tulsa HBA currently has three chapters:
- Owasso Chapter – Meets quarterly to discuss pressing industry issues affecting Owasso and surrounding communities.
- Rogers County Chapter – Meets at Northeast Tech in Claremore on the third Monday of each month at noon, focusing on housing and development matters in Rogers County.
- Southwest Chapter – Represents members in southwest Tulsa and neighboring areas, promoting collaboration and local engagement within the industry.
What is a Committee?
A committee is a group of dedicated members who work together to support specific goals, events, or initiatives of the HBA of Greater Tulsa. Committees provide valuable opportunities for members to get involved, share expertise, and make an impact within the Association.
Committees help plan events, guide programs, and strengthen the HBA’s mission through hands-on participation and leadership. Whether it’s organizing a major event, shaping advocacy efforts, or enhancing member engagement, committees are where ideas become action.
The Tulsa HBA has several standing committees, including:
- Membership Committee – Focuses on recruiting, retaining, and engaging members to strengthen the Association’s network and community.
- Parade of Homes Committee – Oversees the planning and execution of one of the HBA’s largest public events, showcasing the quality and craftsmanship of local builders.
- Hispanic Partnership Committee – Works to build relationships and foster inclusion within Tulsa’s growing Hispanic community, supporting greater access and engagement in the housing industry.
