December 3, 2025
On December 2, 2025, more than 100 eager high school students from the Claremore area boarded buses and headed to the Claremore Expo for the 2nd Annual Build My Future Claremore. For many of them, it was more than just a field trip — it was a first look into a world of possibilities within the construction industry.
The Expo floor buzzed with activity as students spent the morning exploring hands-on experiences designed to spark curiosity and build confidence. Instead of swinging hammers, they sat down and carefully wood-burned artistic details into pieces of lumber at the Pixley Lumber station — a quieter, creative way to connect with the craft. The Professional Women in Building also hosted their own activity stations, giving students the chance to learn from women leading the industry and encouraging them to explore the many career paths available. From there, students explored high-tech opportunities with Northeast Tech and visited dozens of other booths where professionals were ready to guide, teach, and inspire.
Vendors and students connected throughout the event, sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and discovering career paths they may never have considered before. It was a day filled with exploration, excitement, and the kind of real-world learning that leaves a lasting impression.
