The collaborative application of Tulsa's building and development codes requires ongoing education of the requirements and identification of those responsible for their implementation.
On January 1, 2019, the City of Tulsa's Planning Department merged with the Indian Nations Council of Governments' (INCOG) Planning Department to provide the public with a single point of contact for planning services. This change was effected to provide better coordination of the City's short-term and long-term planning efforts according to Mayor G.T. Bynum. At this seminar, you will learn more about the roles and responsibilities associated with this recent merger as well as INCOG's role in regional land use development.
While applications are still being accepted in-person at the Permit Center, many builders are taking advantage of the City of Tulsa's Online Permitting Self-Service Portal. Portal instruction and more information about Development Services resources will be addressed.
Last year, City of Tulsa zoning code amendments that support and implement the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Subdivision and Developments Regulations went into effect. This included compliance with sidewalk regulations relating to section 5-070 of the Subdivision and Development Regulations and Section 70.080-B of the Zoning Code. Residential builders were also notified of a separate sidewalk/driveway permit requirement in accordance with city ordinance. Clarification about the sidewalk and driveway requirements will be addressed by city staff.
Most importantly, this will be an interactive opportunity for builders and developers to ask questions and for their questions to be answered. Advance registration is required.
