  • Appetite for Construction Appetite for Construction

The Appetite for Construction gala is one of the most fun member events of the year. This charitable evening includes small plates from 10 of Tulsa's Top Chefs, a live and silent auction and entertainment. Proceeds from the event benefit the HBA Charitable Foundation, which supports local housing-related causes and education initiatives.

This committee meets from January-April for hour-long planning meetings for the event. Committee members are expected to produce at least two auction items for the event and assist with set-up the day of the event.

  • Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes

The Greater Tulsa Parade of Homes is the perfect opportunity to view the latest trends and speak directly to the area's top builders during a unique, free event showcasing the best in new home building.

Our builders can select to be judged during the Parade so drivers are usually needed for at least two days to drive around out-of-state judges to view the homes and make their marks. Our Twilight Tour events also need volunteers to man the entrance to the homes to count the number of attendees. To volunteer for any of these positions,
contact Events Director, Sarah Gentry, sgentry@tulsahba.com.

  • Total Resource Campaign Total Resource Campaign

The Total Resource Campaign was created to develop the leadership and financial resources of the Home Builders Association through a six-week, volunteer-driven campaign to secure business sponsors for HBA events, publications, and philanthropic causes. Over the course of the campaign, forty-eight volunteers solicit HBA members for sponsorships, advertising and philanthropic opportunities, this provides advertising to companies as well as funds the HBA's operating budget for the year. Volunteers on the campaign work towards cash incentives and trips to a 5-star all-inclusive resort.

  • Build My Future

The Tulsa HBA has seen that #1 issue in the construction industry is the lack of a quality workforce to complete jobs on time and on budget. We are taking action to be part of an annual event to encourage the next generation to continue their education through construction programs and eventually enter our industry as a more qualified employee with our Build My Future event. This event, hosted by the Tulsa HBA and HBA Charitable Foundation, hosts more than 900 high school students who will learn about education programs and employment opportunities available in the construction industry throughout the Tulsa metropolitan area.  They will experience hands-on learning labs, equipment demonstrations, and educational displays facilitated by industry professionals.

This event requires many volunteers to make it possible. From check-in, bag stuffing, lunch service, traffic control and more. For more information on the event or to volunteer, contact Mark Lee, Director of Industry and Career Development, at MLee@TulsaHBA.com

  • Ryal School Holiday Party Ryal School Holiday Party

For over 51 years, the HBA has hosted an annual Christmas party on the first Thursday of December for the low-income students of the Ryal School located south of Henryetta. HBA members gather at the local Wal-Mart to be paired with a student to take on a shopping spree for Christmas gifts funded by the HBA. After shopping, the students are taken back to the HBA for a pizza party, gifts and a visit from Santa. It is absolutely the best way to kick off the Christmas season with giving.
To volunteer, contact Office Manager, Amaris Burris at ABurris@TulsaHBA.com.
